Obituary of Christopher Mitchell Morris

Christopher Mitchell Morris, 46, of Round Rock, Texas, died on Sunday, July 12, 2015. He was born in Brookings, South Dakota on December 29, 1968 to Gary Lee Morris and Lana Jean Morris. Chris is survived by his wife Kristin, and two daughters Regan and Tara. He also leaves behind a mother, brothers, grandmother, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and hundreds of friends that knew and loved him dearly.

Chris was an amazing man.

Chris was born on his parent's first wedding anniversary. His father, Gary, joined the military just after college and Chris had the pleasure of moving every few years to a new city and state. He had two younger brothers that grew up with him. With all the constant moving from place to place the three of them became the only constants in each others lives. The three brothers became more than just brothers, they grew to be inseparable best friends.

After high school in 1987, Chris attended college for a year at University of North Carolina in Charlotte before moving up to the Washington D.C. area. It was there that he began working in the relocation and logistics industry, and met his beautiful wife Kristin in 1993. Chris thrived professionally and quickly moved from the more physical aspects of the job and into a more sales focused role. He made hundreds of friends, many of which he has stayed close to these many years.

On May 27, 1995 he and Kristin were married, and he moved his new family out to a home with plenty of land in Berryville, Virginia in 1997. It was shortly thereafter in 1998 that his first daughter, Regan, was born. Regan was such a gift to them, and they were extremely happy. In 2000, they were blessed with another beautiful daughter, Tara.

Chris was the a wonderful husband and father. Nothing was as important to him as his girls. His love for all three was the driving force in everything that he did. He worked harder for them, he cared for them, he nurtured them, and would do anything in the world for them.

Professionally Chris felt that he would be able to provide for his family better by moving the family to Austin, Texas, and the family made the move in 2004. Chris had secured a job with a local relocation and logistics company, and helped them grow their Austin business. Chris was a star, and quickly made friends and earned the respect of everyone in the industry.

The girls grew quickly, and Chris was the proudest father I've ever known. He loved those girls with his whole heart, and supported them in every way that he could. He was the rock for the family, and did everything from driving them to school and doctors appointments, to cheer practice, fixing dinner every night, and rubbing Kristin's feet when she got home from work. He regularly visited his mother and helped take care of her after she was widowed, and had regular lunch dates with his grandmother at her retirement community. He loved every second of it. His family was everything to him, and he would do anything in the world to take care of them and see them happy.

After 11 years at the company he started with in Austin, Chris decided to take his career to the next level and in March of this year started his own company. His new company (Relocation Right of Way) was the culmination of all the experience Chris had gathered over the years, and he was quickly building a successful business that would ensure the future of his family and their well being.

Chris left us suddenly on Sunday July 12, and with that, a beautiful, smart, kind, gentle light went out. Chris is survived by his beautiful wife, Kristin, his two daughters Regan and Tara, his mother, grandmother, two brothers, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and hundreds of friends. We invite you to help the family celebrate his life at:

Riverbend Church (Smith Chapel) 4214 N. Capital of Texas Highway Austin, TX 78746 @ 10:00 AM

In the event you would like to make a donation to help the family pay for funeral expenses, donations may be made at:

Lana--I know how much you loved your children and grand children and was deeply saddened to hear of your loss. The loss of any family member is a tragedy, but no mother should have to bury her child. I am so sorry. Paul Pope, LBJ

I attended High School with Chris in Wiesbaden, Germany and although I never found him again until this horrible situation, the Warrior Alumni have adopted a saying to let everyone know that no matter where you are, what is happening in your life, living, or deceased you will always have a family: WLF or Warrior Love Forever!
And although I know there are no words that can be said to ease your grief, please know that all the Warriors that went before were there to greet him and all the Warriors still here are praying for peace for you the family left behind. May You find comfort and solace in your family, friends, and faith.

Kristen,
It is with a heavy heart I try to put together some words to try and bring you and the girls comfort but I know that there are none so I will get down on my knees and pray for you sweet friend. Try and let others do for you in this time of loss. You are so very good at doing for others, it is your turn to allow others to give back to you and the girls. Please let us all help you with anything you need and don't be shy about asking! We all want to be a blessing to you and help anyway we can. There are no words...
